He graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Kamenický Šenov, then studied in Professor Stanislav Libenský’s Glass Studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, and completed his studies at the Royal College of Art in London. He also gained professional experience at the Venini glassworks on the island of Murano, at Moser, and at other major European glassmaking centers. He later worked as a teacher at the Secondary School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Valašské Meziříčí and at Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín.
In his independent work, he is best known for his monumental blown glass figurative sculptures, in which he combines bold colors, precise modeling, and a fantastical imagination. In addition to his original sculptures, he has long been involved in designing glassware for the Moser, Crystalex, and Bohemia Art Glass studios, for which he has received numerous Czech and international awards. He is characterized by his ability to combine artistic originality with a perfect mastery of the glassmaking craft.
His works are included in the collections of institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Corning Museum of Glass, the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery in Prague, and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. In 2018, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the International Glass Symposium (IGS) in Nový Bor. For the Glass Soul collection, he created the piece *The Cross*, in which he transforms the archetype of the cross into a contemporary glass sculpture and, through light, color, and material, opens up space for personal and spiritual interpretation.
