After studying glass cutting at the Secondary Vocational School of Glassmaking in Světlá nad Sázavou, he worked at the Bohemia glassworks in Josefův Důl and subsequently at Jaroslav Svoboda’s cut-glass studio in Škrdlovice. Since 1988, he has been working independently in his own studio and has gradually established himself as a creator of monumental fused glass sculptures.
His works are created using traditional fused glass techniques, and he carries out the entire process—from the initial sketches through mold-making to cutting and final finishing—entirely on his own. His work is characterized by his use of pure material, optical depth, light, and surface texture, which give the glass an almost sculptural quality.
He has exhibited his work in the Czech Republic and abroad, including in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates. His works are part of major public and private collections in Europe, North America, and Asia, and have won numerous international awards for glass sculpture.
