She began taking photographs as a child and graduated from the Secondary School of Graphic Arts in Prague. She gained professional experience as a photographer for the daily newspapers MF DNES, Hospodářské noviny, and Lidové noviny. From 2000 to 2002, she worked in the U.S. and London, where she collaborated with leading advertising photographers. She has been working as a freelancer since 2007.
Her work spans documentary photography, portraiture, fashion photography, and fine art. Her work has been created under challenging conditions around the world—she has photographed, for example, in the Gaza Strip, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Colombia. She subsequently draws on her experience in photojournalism for her personal artistic projects, which explore emotions, identity, and the boundaries of human experience.
She is the recipient of the Czech Press Photo award and the UNHCR Prize for Documentary Photography. Her works have been exhibited at institutions such as DOX, the Leica Gallery Prague, the Trafo Gallery, and the Saatchi Gallery in London, and are included in public and private collections both at home and abroad. For the Glass Soul collection, she collaborated with Zdeněk Lhotský to create an object that combines a photographic image with the depth of molten glass, transforming a personal memory into a lasting physical trace.
