He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he studied in the studios of Stanislav Kolíbal, Milan Knížák, and Aleš Veselý. He is a co-founder of the Pondělí art group and has been one of the leading figures of the Czech postmodern art scene since the early 1990s.
In his work, he combines seemingly incompatible materials, techniques, and visual languages. In addition to painting, he works with relief, objects, photography, engraving, and glass, creating both monumental installations and intimate spatial works in which light, texture, and the malleability of materials play an important role.
His works have been featured in major solo exhibitions at the Rudolfinum Gallery, GASK in Kutná Hora, and Villa Pellé, as well as in a number of European cities, including Brussels, Paris, London, and Milan. His works are included in public and private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad.
