Antonín Střížek

Painter and photographer Antonín Střížek focuses primarily on storytelling in his paintings. In his approach to cast sculpture, he draws on his experience from his own artistic practice and enriches it with painterly touches. He is the creator of the curtain for the State Opera in Prague. ’s Resume Antonín Střížek was born on May 22, 1959, in Rumburk. From 1983 to 1988, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Since 1989, he has held some fifty solo exhibitions both at home and abroad. Since 1997, he has headed a painting studio at the Academy of Fine Arts. His paintings are included in the following collections (selection): the National Gallery in Prague, the Central Bohemian Gallery in Prague, the Benedikt Rejt Gallery in Louny, the Gallery of Fine Arts in Roudnice nad Labem, and the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in San Marino.
