Jaroslav Wasserbauer

Jaroslav Wasserbauer is a Czech glass artist who focuses on freestanding geometric and organic glass objects. He works primarily with molten glass, which he uses to create abstract forms. Surface texture, color, and the relationship of the objects to light play a key role in his work. Light effects emphasize the volume and distortions of individual parts, while polished surfaces allow light to penetrate into the interior of the sculptures. He carries out the entire creative process himself—from sketching, through the creation of a plaster model, melting, and cooling, all the way to the final finishing and polishing—which gives his works their uniqueness.
