He is a graduate of Zdeněk Beran’s classical painting studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. His work is rooted in realistic to hyperrealistic painting, which he occasionally disrupts with expressive gestures. His mastery of classical techniques allows him to work with physicality, detail, light, and atmosphere in an exceptionally compelling way.
In his work, he thus constantly intertwines technical discipline with themes related to contemporary humanity and its inner world. He explores the emergence and decline of culture, the relationship between nature and technology, and human memory. Beneath the surface of faces, he searches for hidden desires, fears, and wishes that cannot be easily put into words.
His works have received widespread recognition and are represented in prestigious institutions such as the National Gallery in Prague, the National Museum of Qatar, the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery, and the Fait Gallery. In addition, his works are part of numerous other public and private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad.
